Tandy Lucas

Tandy has been involved in the performing arts, music and visual arts since she was a kid! She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Music for Voice, but her experience with minoring in dance actually led her to having more passion for teaching people how to dance even more than to sing! After she and her husband moved to Seattle as newlyweds in 2014, she found a dance studio to train at and dove into the Seattle dance realm!

She has loved her experiences learning as both a dancer and instructor in the Seattle area over the past 10 years and has had opportunity to teach in a variety of settings with groups, couples and individuals. From group classes, to arranging showcase and performance routines, to teaching at corporate events, to wedding first dances, Tandy loves it all! She works mostly with adults but also enjoys working with youth and children as well, especially in group settings where we can have some fun!

Now, as a mama of a preschooler and expecting a second kiddo in Fall 2024, Tandy teaches part-time in the Seattle, Lynnwood and surrounding areas to balance family and work life. Tandy loves the opportunity to ignite excitement in newer dancers and to build self confidence in body movement and empowerment through partner dancing—she will always be your cheerleader!

Although Tandy currently teaches the West Coast Swing Series class at SCT, she teaches a variety of dance styles including the following from beginner to intermediate level:

West Coast Swing, East Coast Swing, Lindy Hop/Charleston, Country Swing, Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, Chacha, Rumba, Waltz, American Tango, Foxtrot, Nightclub Two-Step, Country Two-Step, and Line Dancing
